Hey everyone! I got my nails done (acrylics put on) a couple weeks ago:

I'm not sure the color, it was just one of them from the salon... although I found a great match with Spoiled by Wet n Wild 'Tip Your Waitress' ($1.99 at CVS).

Now if you're anything like me and HATE long nails, I start to go crazy the second the nails get longer than my finger, and I can barely type or text or anything! They drive me crazy. Normally, I end up being very mean to my nails and pulling off the acrylics, which hurts and leaves my nails looking gross.

This time, I decided to try something different! Just keep painting!

I have seen a lot of the half moon nail designs on YouTube, so I decided to try it myself. I simply took an ELF Small Precision Brush, and Sinful Colors in 'All About You' ($1.99 at Walgreens), and filled in the area that had grown out. I also took nail clippers and cut the nails down to a size I like, then filed them so the edges weren't sharp.

I am VERY happy with the way it turned out! I hope you guys get to try it out!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!! Have fun and be safe!!!!

Pop of Color!

Hey there!

There is a new trend sweeping the beauty community, and that is a pop of color on the lower lash line! This is a great way to incorporate color into your look without going crazy :) Here is a quick summer eye look I did! All products will be posted under the pics <3

I love doing a shimmery lid during the summer. For this look I used the Naked palette by Urban Decay. I started off using the Primer Potion that comes with the palette.

For the lid:

Inner Tear Duct- Virgin
Lid- Half Baked
Crease- Smog
Upper Crease- Naked
Brow Bone- Brulee by Wet N Wild Color Icon Single Shadow
Lower Lash Line- Milani's Liquif' Eye in Aqua
(I also went in after and put NYX's Slide On Glide On pencil in Azure to make the color brighter - not pictured)

Lashes:
Lo'real Power Volume 24-HR Blake Smoke
Khroma Beauty Stroke of Midnight
Revlon Lash Potion

Hope you guys like this look! Please comment!

Small Haul!

Hey again!!

I made a CVS run today and got some products (new and repurchases) and thought I would share what I got! All prices will be from CVS.

First, I got Wet N Wild Fergie nail polish in 'A008 Glowstick' ($3.49).
This polish is the definition of LIME GREEN! Now, even though I am 25, I love anything neon as much as the next 12 year old, so this polish is right up my alley. I recommend putting a white base down to get the brightest color. But be careful! This is extremely thin. If there is too much on the brush it will just drop everywhere, which I found out the hard way.

NYC products were buy one get one 50% off, and I have been wanting to try their new Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms ($2.99), so I picked up the Sparkle Eye Dust ($3.19) to make the gloss half off .

I LOVE this lip balm. It smells so fruity and leaves a hint of pink on your lips. The picture makes it look sparkly, but that is just the sun hitting the gloss; there isn't any sparkle!
The eye dust is very interesting... It comes out on a doe foot applicator, and when it says dust, it seriously is dust. It is a beautiful champagne color, but to use it without a ton of fallout will be a trick. My guess is to use a wet or sticky base then apply the dust while it is still drying. I will update this post as I experiment with it!

Finally I got 2 mascaras, one a repurchase and one a new product from Revlon! PS... I didn't know Khroma was sold at CVS I am so excited!
(Don't mind that attempt to be creative in the palm tree, it didn't turn out like I thought it would! Boo.)

I repurchased my FAVORITE separating and lengthening mascara, Khroma Beauty's Stroke of Midnight ($9.99). I use this stuff every day! I know there aren't a lot of people who are a fan of Khroma Beauty whether it be because it is the Kardashian line, or because honestly, a lot of the products aren't worth the price and aren't all that great. They have recently come out with a lot of new products so maybe things will start looking up, but I have found their diamond in the rough! This mascara puts Covergirl's Clump Crusher to shame. The rubber bristles lengthen and separate amazingly!!!
I also bought the new Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious ($7.99). I haven't found a volumizing mascara that I am in love with, and this new product claims to be very volumizing. So far I love it! I found that if you wait in between coats to let it dry, it helps volumize better.

That's my haul! Hope you guys enjoyed, and please let me know if you there is anything specific you want to see!

Curly Hair Routine

Living in the south means many things: long hot summers, beaches, palm trees, and HUMIDITY. That one month out of the year where it is possible to straighten your hair without becoming a human fuzzball (December) is great, but what about the other 11 months?

After many, many, MANY years of trial and error (from rock hard curls to a frizz afro) I have finally found a routine that works for me to beat the heat. Hopefully it works for you too!

WASHING

To me, shampoo is shampoo is shampoo. I never really can tell a difference in my hair switching from one to another. Well, except Pantene ProV, because I'm allergic to it.... Anyway, just use whatever shampoo you prefer!

On to conditioner. This is where it all changed for me. MIX THEM!! Every time I wash my hair, I mix L'oreal Vive Pro ($5.97 @ Drugstores) with Organix Macadamia Oil Heal Mask ($5.74 @ Drugstores) (pictures courtesy of Google)

Just put both in your palm and swirl it around with your finger to mix them up!

When you're out of the shower, DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR! That is the start of all frizz problems I have. I typically brush it before the shower so my drain doesn't clog up with hair. All curly headed people know exactly what that means!

Now it's time for a "relaxer". I use this term loosley because this product isn't a chemical relaxer, it just helps my curls be less kinky and out of control, and prevents flyaways. I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Relaxing Balm (~$20 from Ulta). I put this on the length of my hair, NOT roots. Putting it on your roots only causes more grease.

And finally, my lifesaver, Leave-In Conditioner!! I use Bed Head Ego Boost, which also helps prevent split ends (~$12 from Walmart). And do not be shy, load this product on! Bed Head is great because no matter how much you use, you will not get hard crunchy curls, like you would from a mousse.

Finally after towel drying and letting my hair air dry for a while, I use a blow dryer just at my roots for some lift. and Vwa-lah! Humidity defense!

Thanks guys!!

Summer Blush Must-Haves!!

Welcome to my very first blog!
In this post I will be reviewing and swatching my Summer Blush Must-Haves!

My favorite summer blushes range from drugstore to high end, but I love all of them the same. These 5 products have made it to the top of the list!

1. ELF Blush in Pink Passion
($3.00 from www.eyeslipsface.com or select Walmart and Target)

This is the ultimate girly-girl Barbie pink color. It is a matte pink powder blush, and perfect to give your cheeks a pop of color!

2. ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia
($3.00 from www.eyeslipsface.com or select Walmart and Target)

This blush is a pale pink, with LOTS of gold sparkle, although the sparkle doesn't come off on the skin as strong as it does in the duo palette. This is perfect for a hint of color. I recommend using a setting spray to make it last longer on your cheeks. The other color is a sparkly bronzer, but I prefer matte ones, so I typically don't use it.

    3. Fox in a Box in Spicy and Sweet
    ($6.00 from Walmart)

In my opinion, mixing blush colors makes it look so much more natural on skin than a solid color by itself. That being said, Fox in a Box is perfect for that! There are four different colors, ranging from light to dark. I swirl my brush through all of them and the color comes off very natural. There is also a gold sheen in this blush, which I love!

    4. L'oreal Visible Lift in Coral
    ($11-$12 from Drugstores)

This is one of the most unique blushes I have ever come upon. It is similar to the Maybelline Bouncy blushes,  just not as solid. The texture of this is almost mousse-like, but I recommend using your fingers to apply it because a brush just doesn't apply hard enough to get the product on it. Also, this coral blush is the ULTIMATE in gold sparkle! It's perfect for a summer night :)

    5. Benefit Dallas
    ($28.00 from Ulta)

This blush is one of the only high-end ones I have, and it is amazing! As you can see, it is much darker than most blushes, almost on the verge of becoming a bronzer, but this is why I love it. It adds a look to your cheeks as if you have been out in the sun all day, with a subtle sheen. I even add a small amount to my temples and forehead hair line, where the sun would naturally hit.
